A Contemplative Path Through the Crisis /

Contemplation and/in Cyberspace

An interview with Glenn Welby and Sarah Bachelard

Almost without our knowing it and without having left home, human beings have come to dwell in a new land – cyberspace. Particularly in this time of global crisis, we are spending more and more time using digital platforms to work and connect.

The benefits of this new world are myriad, but many of us lack an understanding of its shadow side – how our data is stolen or sold and used to predict or manipulate our behaviour, how cyber habits affect our mental and relational health, how ‘big tech’ increasingly sets the global and political agenda.

How is contemplative practice related to this ‘new land’? How might meditation help us navigate the perils of cyberspace more effectively, and how might technology support us in the contemplative life?

Sarah Bachelard joins in discussion with Glenn Welby, Principal of Cybercy, a leading cyber security advisor, who knows the language of the Internet and teaches practices for thriving in the 21st century and the digital age.
