Marco Schorlemmer: “Science is a spiritual practice”

Marco Schorlemmer sees scientists as contemplatives. He understands science as a spiritual practice in itself, “because to inquire is to be open to the unknown, it is about to let curiosity and wonder drive this inquiry, it is allowing oneself to be transformed by it. Our human journey is basically a journey of inquiry”.

Marcos speaks out of his experience both as an Artificial Intelligence scientist and as a meditator (former WCCM Coordinator for Spain). You can watch to this talk on “The contemplative core of scientific inquiry”, part of The John Main Seminar 2018, in Belgium, on the theme A Contemplative Response to the Crisis of Change

Meditatio, the outreach of WCCM to many professions and fields of life, has a range of resources on Contemplative Science
