with Tamara Salmen
Tamara Salmen is the WCCM National Coordinator in Venezuela, a nation that has been in accelerating chaos for many years and has now reached a new level of suffering. Tamara is a paediatrician in Caracas who sees the impact on children and people hunting for food in the streets. She speaks with Laurence Freeman on how she has found a contemplative path through this crisis and is walking it with the community of Christian meditation and those she introduces meditation to. Despite the protest and anger, they believe in love. Despite the fragmentation of ordinary life, they tell her ‘we have never felt alone. This is a deeply moving and real description of what the contemplative experience means when your world falls apart.
